They are most known for their pies though, try a slice of the banana blueberry or the black forest for a decadent dessert. Koffee Kup has been family owned since 1968 and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Try the jalapeno bread on your sandwich or a scoop of ice cream in your coffee! Koffee Kup EisĮis is a great little spot to have some delicious sandwiches and ice cream. It has a comfortable porch with bench swings where you can sit outside and watch the cars drive through Hico. The 2nd Street Bakeshop is located inside a cute house and serves made-from-scratch bakery items and a wide selection of coffee. Take a look here if you are looking for the comforts of a nice hotel instead of the glamping experiences that Off the Vine RV Park and the Cabin on the Creek offer. This hotel is full of western decor and features a saloon and a steakhouse. The Midland Hotel is located in the center of Hico within a historic building dating back to 1891. Definitely check this place out if you are looking for a remote place to disconnect, but still want to be within driving distance of some small towns. It even comes with an array of games to play and a s’mores kit!Īs the name suggests, it’s right on the Duffau Creek. It is entirely solar powered but still offers AC, a fridge and outlets to use. This cabin is located about a 10 minute drive north of Hico, meaning that it’s closer to Dinosaur Valley State Park. You’ll find a more secluded glamping experience at Cabin on the Creek. Off the Vine RV Park has similar vibes to the popular El Cosmico in Marfa, TX, but is much closer to DFW! The fun RVs make for great photo ops and it’s a great place to relax and disconnect. We brought Scardello cheese from Dallas and OTV left Wiseman's chocolate for us! The land is super peaceful and a great place to relax and unwind. Some of the other RVs are bigger with more permanent beds, but I loved the decor in Maria! The property also has games like cornhole and an office with goodies to take home. A fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, an electric hot place, dishes and coffee, basically everything you need!. Chairs to sit outside and a grill to cook on.It can sleep four but there would not be very much space for your luggage. Two beds created by flattening the couches.A full bathroom (my 6’4” partner was too tall to stand up in the shower but I was fine at 5’5”!).It had impressive attention to detail and was a lovely and peaceful place to sleep. I stayed in the Maria and it’s beautifully decorated with colorful cushions, bright curtains and brightly tiled countertops. I stayed at Off the Vine RV Park, which offers furnished vintage RVs, trailers and airstream accomodations in addition to traditional RV hookups.
